My awakening to the connection between our soil, our nutrients & our health

My Story

For quite some time now, I’ve been intrigued by the holistic human being - the interdependence between the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual dimensions of wellness. Specifically, how the foods we consume profoundly impact each of those dimensions and subsequently how we see ourselves and the world around us. The intrigue quickly became a fixation when I began developing severe intolerances to food while in the United States. A trace of gluten, dairy, corn or soy would send both my brain and body into an inflamed state, leading to brain fog, bloat, memory issues, unpredictable moods and other unfavorable maladies. I was confused; our food is meant to nourish us, not make us sick.

Then, I moved to Rome. While in Europe, consuming those same inflammation-inducing foods had the opposite outcome. I noticed my cognitive and bodily functions operating at optimal levels, begging the question: what is the difference between our food here in the United States versus other countries?

Upon returning home, I was inspired to delve deeper into the world of holistic health and enrolled at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. Alongside my studies, I was introduced to a growing body of literature suggesting that the food quality dilemma lies within our soil. The industrial and chemical farming models used to grow our produce has led to the decimation of the soil and, thus, the inevitable decline of available nutrients and overall health as Americans.

As a holistic health practitioner focused on regenerative food systems, I am on a mission to restore human and planetary health by helping people understand the nature of their inflammation, the depletion of nutrients in our food supply, and how to heal the brain, body & soul through the adoption of holistic health principles and regenerative food systems.

My Background

My career started in corporate communications in New York City, where I worked for a leading global public relations agency on brand strategy, media relations, podcast production, social media marketing, public affairs and research analysis. Following this, I shifted to employment under a marketing agency as an account manager for the Spotify Strategic Communications team.

I then exited the corporate world and redirected my focus toward a more pressing topic - human health, where I graduated as a holistic health practitioner under the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, studying a variety of topics including regenerative agriculture, the gut microbiome, environmental toxins, GMOs, soil as medicine and more.

Since graduating, I've worked as an independent consultant for world-renowned regenerative agriculture non-profit, Kiss the Ground, where I analyzed their previous partnership models to shape current partner offerings and outreach strategies.

Combining my knowledge in corporate communications, brand partnerships, regenerative agriculture and holistic health, I am now committed to educating audiences on the importance of regenerating our soil systems to not only restore human health, but also to heal our overheated and acidified planet through carbon sequestration.
